2012 World Standards Day (WSD) Poster Design Competition

The World Standards Cooperation (WSC) was established in 2001 by the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC), the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) in order to strengthen and advance the voluntary consensus-based international standards systems of IEC, ISO and ITU.

The WSC also promotes the adoption and implementation of international consensus-based standards worldwide; and resolves any outstanding issues regarding cooperation in the technical work of the three organizations.

The IEC, ISO and ITU are launching a competition open to everyone, to design a poster illustrating the 2012 World Standards Day (WSD) theme:

Less waste, better results – Standards increase efficiency

The Antigua and Barbuda Bureau of Standards (ABBS) is therefore pleased to invite all ART practitioners to participation in this competition.  We see this as a grand opportunity for the  interface of  art  with the  standards world.

The designer(s) of the best poster will win 1 500 Swiss francs, with the three runners-up receiving 500 Swiss francs each. Please note that the closing date for all entries is 10 May 2012 (midnight, Swiss  time which is  approaching  6 PM in Antigua and Barbuda)
