Security Forces go on Retreat on Monday

Minister of National Security, Sen. the Hon. Dr. L. Errol Cort will engage high ranking members of the Royal Police Force of Antigua and Barbuda as well as the Antigua and Barbuda Defence Force, in a one day Retreat at the Antigua and Barbuda Hospitality Training Institute, on Monday 19th March.
Monday’s retreat will address issues impacting the island’s security forces. During the meeting a review of the recommendations made in the Alphonse Breau Report will be conducted. The future development of the Police Force is also on the agenda for discussion. The challenges being faced by the members of the security forces as well as issues of collaboration between the Police and Defence Forces will be discussed.
The Antigua and Barbuda Defence Force will join their security counterparts for the afternoon session to continue discussions surrounding the review of the crime fighting strategy of the Police/ABDF as well as a strategy for the removal of illegal firearms and ammunition from the streets.
Minister Cort will round off the session with a presentation looking at the UNDP 2012 Caribbean Human Development Report.
